I WOULD LIKE TO DO SOME RESEARCH INTO THESE AREAS-SORT OF GO BACK TO MY ROOTS THING
BUT EVERYWHERE I GO OR LOOK IS ABOUT WITCHES/MAGIC OR A COMPANY TRYING TO SELL ME SOME TRINKET OR OTHER
WHILE ALL THOSE AREAS HAVE THEIR PLACE I'M NOT AGAINST THEM BUT WOULD LIKE TO DO SOME MORE SERIOUS RESEARCH
IF SOMEONE COULD GIVE ME A PLACE TO START I WOULD APPRECIATE IT-THANK YOU
P.S. NOT INTERESTED IN MYTHOLOGY

Begin you readings in the studies of Celtic culture. There are many serious and fascinating books out there by reputable scholars. Look in your ancient history section. Once you get hooked into that pipeline, you will find an endless world waiting for you. You have a right to be proud.

to find out about the culture of the celts the movie Druids with Christopher Lambert is a very good idea of what life was like however The Celts religion and way of life was only recorded by the romans and later in ireland was recorded by christian monks. the book Don't know much about mythology has a section on the Celts if you want to know about their culture if magic or religion is what your after Edain McCoy's book Celtic Magic myth and magic is a good source. It has the best of both worlds. To really learn about the Celts I am afraid you will have to read a little about their mythology as there are no actual records by the celts.

I love to read about the ancient Celts. I follow a Celtic Reconstructionist path (neo-pagan) and we study the history, archaeology, mythology, poetry, and linguistics of the ancient Celts to better understand the culture of the peoples who once worshiped our deities. I especially like reading about the Brythonic Celts. Since I am not sure what exactly you are looking for, I am including some of my favorite websites and book lists and hopefully some of them will help. All of the following websites are academic in nature and are reliable. Please be careful when reading New Age materials---many are full of bull. Many of the books I recommend will be available in your local library in the European section.
This is one of the few good sites specifically about the Brythonic Celts. The articles are good and there's a great forum. I hope to see you there.

This is a great site about the Celtic tribes of Roman Britain.

Another good site about Celtic tribes.

This is a pretty good MSN group to learn about history and Celtic geneology. Some members are neo-pagans but it is not a pagan group. The members are friendly and helpful.

This is my favorite site to research Celtic mythology and poetry. You can Google Mary's site for a specific keyword or browse through her files. There is a lot of translated texts (rather than retellings) and the site makes it easy to cross-reference.

Although these two sites are Celtic Recon, they have excellent reading lists. We don't proselytize our religion so you shouldn't be offended by the sites in any way. The reading lists are academic.

I recomend begining your research using book, rather than internet sources. You are more likely to get specific, well-researched answers. If the internet is your thing, perhaps the religious studies section of a university or library search engine.

YOU SHOULDN'T WRITE IN ALL CAPS AS IT'S RUDE AND IT IS THE ONLINE EQUIVALENT OF YELLING AT PPL. WHILE YOU MAY BE FRUSTRATED ABOUT YOUR SEARCH YOU SHOULDN'T TAKE IT OUT ON OTHERS. ON TO MY ANSWER.
Have you thought of maybe doing a quote search with history of or a boolean search with genealogy and one of your topics. You could do an advanced search and include as many specific details as you can.
