Well lets just say that After a lifetime of having Presidents much older than me, it seems very strange that the last two are my age or younger.
I'm probably in better shape physically at 50 than I have ever been and that's because I work out--both cardio and weights three times a week. I may have been equally fit in Army basic training at age 23, but I don't think I was as strong, physically or mentally. I think physical exercise is critically important to good health and that includes mental health.

I've always been very impatient and it's my worst fault of many, but as I have aged that has started to moderate and because it has, I have tried harder to be more patient. I think I it's working. Being impatient hurts a person both personally and other ways.

I've learned over the years that the upbringing that I had as a child was really quite extraordinary, although I didn't realize it at the time. It amazes me now, with hindsight, just how skilled my parents were as raising chidren. My brother and sister concur in this. We were very, very fortunate to have such loving, caring and wise parents. Most of your how you live your adult life is formed during your early chidhood years--it's critical to a good and happy life.

I'm probably less than 15 years away from retirement from my full time job and while I find that to be a very good feeling, I anticipate working part time after I retire. However, that work will only be something that I truly enjoy and want to do on a regular basis. Work is one of two things that define a person. The other is family

Start a new life at 50? Actually, I had a little help - I was downsized when I was 50 - along with 10,000 of my co-workers. Not exactly the start of a new life I was looking for. LOL!!

But, I believe everything in life happens for a reason, even though we may not understand them at the time. Us MATURE ones come to realize that. Thank you - I feel so much younger now. : )

Twice. I started a new llife at about 48, opened a greenhouse and nursery on 4 of my 50 acres. Ran it successfully for 12 years until circumstances (among them, Wal-Mart) drove me out. Started over in the field of mental health at the age of 60 and became a certified mental health professional. I just retired a couple of weeks ago, so you could say I'm starting over yet again. I need to supplement my SS check so am enbarking on editing/proofreading and tutoring part-time. And it's all been good!

So yes, my friend, there is life after 50!

Life at 50......I'm 52..........is like life at any other age. It's all in the mind.
I like to think I'm just as capable of stuff at 50 as I was when I was 20. In fact, some days, looking around me, I've got a damn sight more going for me than some 20-year-olds.

The best favour you can do yourself is to lose this mental block with the age thing....and these trite expressions. Life begins when you let it.

Life gets easier at 50 if you are in a stable relationship. Kids all grown and no need for overtime hours. More time for loving and being with Grand children.

I do believe life does begin around 50. It is just a number and is only about your attitude and everyday living.

I'll be 50 this October. It's like a breath of fresh air. I'm finally
to the point where I'm understanding peoples silly ways,
and not having to always make something personal out of it.

It is a wonderful life after retirement at 60s. One is an emperor of the household. Lot more respect; much more affection from grand children; no rush to go to work; no depressions on return from daily work. A time for: ' Know thyself, to know thine God *
