Most of these bands are really english - cockney or northern. I'd say Capercaillie and The Pogues and the Manic St Preachers are as british as any of the ones above, not forgetting bands like Asian Dub Foundation and Roots Manuva.........this is really a question about identity as Britishness is a very vague concept in a country made up of 4 countries, as well as endless ethnicities.....
