Asians are less physical and show less emotion. In fact, I only hug my mother if I haven't seen her in a while or if something really good or really bad happens. And if someone older then you is wrong or mean, its disrespectful to retaliate.
Your parent's word is equal to God. A good Asian knows his/her place in the family and society and doesn't trespass, they are also patriotic, and loyal to the beliefs and values their parents instill in them.

There are general differences for sure. But thats only as far as business etiquette and what is part of the societal norm.
In Western countries, there was widespread conservatism, but a lot of them have moved on with the times. For example, in the past most europeans would have found homosexuality morally wrong. The proportion has been reduced now.
Asians, being "seen" as more primitive, prefer to stick to their values, although some are opening up to more western notions of societal norms.
But do be aware that every society has a range of people and behaviors, even though conformists in societies may respond to them differently

I'm not generalising to all Asians but how I've been brought up taught and experienced. We enjoy eating together with friend and families whether it be out or at home.
I've noticed that some young white people increasingly only go out with the objective of getting drunk.

In (some) Asian cultures you tend to absorb that which you are required to absorb.
