Any catastrophe that leads to the breakdown of essential services, in particular power as this is needed to pump water, sewage etc. An outbreak of a very infectious disease that causes fatalities. Major crop failures in the region or primary supply source. The level of risk from the breakdown of essential services is far greater in areas of large population which i think is the case in Mumbai.

Contaminated water from the tap (hope they fixed the sewarage leaks already), getting mugged on the streets, getting runned down by blind motorists on the roads, and getting hassled and pickpocketed by beggars and pickpockets alike, getting waylaid by taxi drivers who demanded a hugh fee from you in a non-familiar neighbourhood.

Otherwise, its quite safe there.
