I noticed on the instructions it said to remove petcock and whatever. What would be good to use to plug the hole. I dont want to get this stuff on me or the outside the tank.

I have to agree with "mikebrenn..." that is horrible stuff ! LOL
When I've used it -
-If your petcock is bolted on - get a thin piece of wood (or sheet metal) that will fit over the hole. Drill holes in it where the bolts go. Put a piece of rubber (like a tire inner tube) between the wood and gas tank and bolt them onto the tank.
-If your petcock is screwd on, that's gonna be a little more difficult. You don't want any sealant in the tube the petcock screws onto.
-Use a cork or any type of rubber plug. Insert a piect of wire through the center of the cork and tie a knot on the top of the cork so the wire won't come through. Snake the wire through the gas cap down through the petcock and pull the wire, to plug the cork in the hole. You'll probably have to tap it out with a screw driver.
-Or get a wooden dowl the size of the hole (or get a bigger one and sand it to size). Insert it into the hole and tape the part sticking out of the tank, to hold it there.
-Or just tape the hole closed.
-You might have to sand or file (with a rat tail file (long and round))
to clean the inside of the hole to fit the petcock.
-For the gas cap - Duck tape, wood and inner tube method, inner tube and hose clamp, large round tappered (like a cork) piece of wood and jamb it in. I'm sure you can figure something out.
-Fuel level gauge - wood and inner tube method.
-Vent tube - tape. When the process is finished, snake a piece of wire up the tube to make sure it's not clogged.

Remember when I said it's horrible? It makes a mess. Use a lot of newspaper, big piece of card board 3' x 3', or a piece of junk drop cloth / blanket that you don't mind throwing out when you're done. Have a lot of rags within reach for quick clean up. After the job is complete, ALWAYS use an in-line fuel filter. That stuff is eventually gonna chip away.

that is horrible stuff but if you have to use it,
1. Clean tank, use few handfuls of sharp roofing nails in tank shake untill all rust and scale is off inside.blow out with air.
2. remove petcock and cap and seal with duct tape or better yet plastic plugs you can get at auto parts store. I have seen people seal vent in cap causing bike to stop running.
3.Go ahead and pour that junk in and turn tank to coat evenly, let it cure for whatever time can says.
