not true, introversion is only a fraction of a persons personality.
Ironically though, I do happen to fit into your description
INTJ with a 136 IQ. Introverted Intuition Thinking Judging.
Order of mental pfreferences
1. Introverted Inuition
2. Extraverted Thinking
3. Introverted Feeling
4. Extraverted Sensing
" first of all who decides whats weird. Intelligent people stand out from the masses because the masses are generally stupid and afraid of having intelligent ideas. Intelligent ideas are often ideas that go against popular thought. A person that goes against popular thought is often criticized and called weird. Since those with intelligence are rare they tend to enjoy solitude rather than compromise thier ideas in order to "fit in" "
Sorry Had to Quote this again because I think it was worded very well with much thought and consideration put into it.
F.Y.I. INTJ's are the rarest of all types with the highest level of individuation and self confidence consisting of about 1% of the population.
*an ENTJ can grasp the theoretical concepts and be extroverted /social/mainstreamer at the same time.
Heres one of the reasons they say people put a psychological distance when around me. Your own preference for 'truth', however painful, can put others around you on a permanent but unnoticed defensive.
I'm sorry for being honest? Such injustice and oppression are imposed on the intellectual, it's no wonder why they don't think of a solution to save humanity, perhaps because humanity is not deserving of it.

Some people, intelligent or not, simply enjoy their own company. It helps them think clearly without distractions or annoyance. It is not a "weird" thing; it is very common. Get out in the world and get to know more people and you'll understand that everyone has an occasional need to be alone, some more than others.

I read this article about CEO's of big companies.
It was a discussion about introvert vs extrovert. Which is what
you are asking. And generally yes. The intelligent ones, Bill Gates, are not really good at social skills. The loath parties,
and networking people. But they still have to know the "right" people and be extroverted at the "right" time to become CEO's.
The extroverts, those with good social skills, were seen
as egotistical and socially engineering their way to the top.

I've heard that from people, but i thought it was always just them trying to make themselves look better. I'd say yes though, most of the solitary sort i hang out with make really good conversation when we get into it.

Geniuses are usually the most reclusive and do not conform to the "norms" of society. The same parts of the brain that lead to the high levels of intelligence, affect the ability to socialize and interact with others.
So if you are smart and prefer not to waste precious time on minor social activities, have no fear, you may be on your way to a Nobel prize!!!

Weird is an ambiguous word you will need to elaborate on. Solitary is another word for introvert. Introverts are people whose energy is depleted by lots of goings on around them. They recharge their energy by spending time alone or with only one or maximum two people. You can find introverts in every strata of society.

i've heard that before, and think it is quite possible. on the other hand , someone with low intelligence may not know how to communicate, and therefore be solitary.
