What will be the nitrogen containing product when a nitrogen containing organic compound is completely combusted?

Will it be N2 or NO2?

The products of nitrogen combustion are temperature-specific. At low temperature the product is more likely to be N2, but at higher temperatures the products could be either NO2, N2 or NO.

The x does not necessarily have to be 2 because the moles of oxygen and those of the nitrogen containing compound have not been specified.

The answer is usually a mixture of N2 and NOx. The ratio depends upon the temperature of combustion, the O2 supply and the % of N in the sample.
