Portsmouth have made a fantastic start to the season, especially as they where candidates for relegation. Think this is due to some shrewd signings by Harry Redknapp. Campbell and Kanu have made a world of difference to them, as they are still quality players, but have bought in a world of experience with them. There have been a few other signings of note, but i think the best signing of all was Tony Adams as coach. What that bloke does not know about defending isnt worth knowing. at the moment, they are on form team with 4 wins & a draw in the opening five matches of the 2006-2007 English Premier League puts them on top of the table. it is their best start in the Premiership.

So far, they have played airtight defense (still no goals allowed in five matches), but they probably will fall back when they face the big boys like Chelsea and Man Utd. Still, Harry has already secured Manager of the Year!

it is just the beginning...man u will end the premier league being top 1 followed by chelsea and liverpool

because they have won most matches and are on very good form. However, they haven't played anyone that good so far so i doubt they will stay there. Manchester United will probally overtake them when they play Arsenal this afternoon.

because they met easy teams...we know if they meet the big teams (man utd,chelsea,l'pool,arsenal) they will lose..they have more points and they wont be first when man utd beat arsenal today
