Help my good friend?
My good friend cares alot about her looks. She wears glasses. Her degree is about 575. She had a new pair of glasses. See, after having a degree in that glasses, she found that it sucked! And she cared alot about her looks. She actually stepped on it! In front of me! And she went home and told her mom that she dropped it and someone stepped on it! Its like throwing $$ away! Then her mom believed her! So, her mom got her another one! And the same, she didnt like it! She told her mom that it was uncomfortable, so obviously they had to adjust it. But they didnt have the time, and her mother just realized it and will bring her to adjust it soon. I told her it looks fine... she says no! So, what should i do? Like hlpe her think of another excuse again?!?!?! i know its lame.. she wears her old pair which is a little lower in degree....

Why doesn't her mother let her choose her own glasses?

She should insist her mother that she chose her glasses.

I wear glasses since I was 15 (half my life, more or less).
I started using them in the middle of a school year, one Friday I didn't have them, the next Monday there they were.
My mother both me the ones she could afford.
I look stupid and I didn't like them but I knew they were a lot of money and I knew that I really needed them so I took it as a challenge.
My health came first!
Later on, my mom had the money and both me a new pair, more fashionable, because I did the effort and endured with the ugly ones.
I'm sure this is not the answer you and your friend would like to hear but she is silly caring about her looks instead of her health first.
Also, why doesn't she tell her mom that she doesn't like the glasses?
I think is pretty damn stupid going on with excuses and breaking glasses.
If her mom finds out it will be a lot worse.
And you... as her friend you shouldn't be helping her like this!
Show her she acting wrong, with her mom and with herself.
I had to put up with all sorts of nicknames but I'm still here and my eyes aren't worse because I made that choice.
Tell your friend to do the smart thing.

she's a good lier, i'll give you that. Anyway, tell her she cant waste money like that. Everyone is concerned abt their looks but people dont just step on their glasses. I would give her a good slap. But u probably dont wanna do that. So tell her to get a grip and live with it. When she is earning her own money then she can waste it.

The only way to make her feel better is too tell her the truth/your opinion. OR take her on a shopping spree to match new clothes with her glasses!
