How about Aurora? Means the same thing but much prettier. I wanted to call my daughter Aurora because I'm fascinated by the Aurora Borealis but my partner thought it was too unusual!! He's so boring! Oh, also the name of the princess in Sleeping Beauty!! Very sweet! (But you don't have to tell people that!!) Anyway its a nice modern twist on the name Dawn.

It depends on weather you want a common or and unusual name, Dawn was a common name in the 70s and 80s, but it is quite a pretty sounding name.

Yes, as others have said, it sounds like it would be great for a middle name.

And as others have said, and from my experience, please make sure there are no "names" that could be used to make fun of her. Even down to what it sounds like with the last name.

Ask a bunch of people what they think mean kids would come up with so you can get an idea what her life would be like growing up in grade school. Emotional torment like this can stick with a person for years and years. That's how I carefully chose my kids as Emily and Eric. Not much kids can do with those to be mean.

I know 3 Dawns' and no one makes fun of their name. One is a woman in her 40's, one is a teenager that's 17, and the other is my second cousin...she's a baby and it's her middle name. What matters is if you like it. :)
