Moving house is stressful but moving to an area your not familiar with is hard,i know as i did it myself about a year ago.It does take time and you do feel lonely.I suggest you look in your local paper for singles groups such as speed dating, the latest craze that all singles are trying out.Maybe take up a hobbie or join a evening class that interests you.Another thing you could try is becoming friends with your neighbours by asking them around for a meal and drinks to get to know them......There is endless possibilities......Good luck.

I have recently moved country (Dublin Ireland to London UK). I was dreading the making friends business but I have made loads of them. I made friends through walking the dog, Going to the park, swimming, Aqua Aerobics, card playing, down the pub, my husbands work socials (Ha Ha Ha) (I don't work). Volunteering at the school (Listening to kids read, helping with afterschool homework clubs) It took about 6 mths before I knew anybody's name but it's been grat since. best of luck

Join a social club or get a hobby. Sometimes church works, if you are the church type. These are places to meet people where there is not the expectation of romance.
