I have some photos saved on my Mac computer that have really high KBs. How do you convert the photos to a smaller KB?

Depending on the type of file, and the size that you want, there are several different options you can use to make an image file smaller.

Open the image in a photo editor of some kind (like Photoshop or iPhoto will work 2) Change the resolution of the image less pixels. When you save the image, use some type of compression, such as jpg, png, or gif, depending on the type of image. For most photos, using the jpg compression will work the best. There are several quality level settings when you save them.

After creating the file, and depending on the file, you may want to compress them using zip compression. This is good if you want to e-mail them to somebody, or if you want to archive a tiff image. Control-click the image or images and select "Create Archive of..."

You can email them direct from iphoto and choose a smaller size to send, or you can download gimpshop a free open source photoshop look/do like and resize as you would in photoshop.

This is the best solution I found for myself: Download "SmallImage 2" which is an amazing Free software for Macs that reduces jpeg sizes, removes metadata, recompress, resizes:
Software's Site (with all the information):

Direct download:

You can also do it by using the default picture viewer, then choosing 'save as' - and then, under "quality" pull it to a lower resolution, which means you are eliminating ppi's (points per inch).
