I got that recently. Is the weather cooling down now where you live. If so, warmer clothes at night and close all the windows.
Have you ever had asthma (not me) but my doctor did ask, so I wonder if that has anything to do with night coughing. Did you suffer from a cold recently that you didn't look after, could be a come back. Anyway, I took some antibiotics and it kind of went away.

I have asthma, and at night when you lay down is the time it is the worst. The phlegm then drains and clogs your bronchial tubes. Plus you have dust mites, dust, and other things in your bedrooms that can trigger it. They say carpeting, drapes, and even blinds collect dust and bother the asthmatic person. So keep your room clean.

When you lie down any mucus in your tubes runs into your chest and makes you cough. You must have a chill.
