sounds like a dodgy battery - remove battery (take down details of battery type and power) and power up without battery in...are you still getting warnings?
Are you using the laptop on your lap, causing vents to be blocked and overheating...place laptop on flat hard surface, with space around and raise the back up by putting something under each foot at back, I use up-ended chair castors about 1/2 inch in depth -
You probably would be better to discharge the battery fully ( make sure your not working on anything important at the time of running battery down with no cables in) Then try re charging fully without using system.
If same problem occurs I would invest in a new battery.
If its a SONY branded battery, contact your supplier of laptop as a lot have been recalled recently as they were burning up.
Good Luck

Its more than likely a bad battery or the contacts that the battery connects to. Get a new battery (eBay) or clean the contacts ( a NON solvent, use Compressed Air and/or a rag...

You need to check your battery. Since the cables are working fine, your battery is drained. Batteries don't last forever, time for a new one.

Sorry for your pain right now. I cannot give a diagnosis but can tell you that I had to bury my computer a while back. There were not many at the funeral service. Well I did not bury it, I threw it in the swamp. You may have to do the same. Let me know where to send flowers if it does go in the swamp too.

Maybe your batteries are completely dead, and you are just running on the DC power provided by the rectifier/transformer unit.

the battery's died by the sounds of things. your best bet is to look up a replacement on the manufacturer's website - if you've still got a guarantee use that
