i just moved to lond and so i connected my dell computer. but then i think somethign blw in it since i saw smoke. so then i opened up my comp, changed the pwer voltage from 115 to 230. hmmm them i plugged it in again.... then it blew again... could someone pleese tell me what is going on?

you probably fried the power supply .... also keep in mind that UK power is 230v/50 Hz not 115v/60 Hz like in the states what ever damage you may have done has affected the out side of the power supply .. replace it .... smoke is not a temporary failure indicator, it means permanent damage has been done ... hopefully your motherboard survived the ordeal

You probably just fried your power supply. Take it in and get it checked. You need a UK to US adapter. Your plug-ins are different than ours.

Are the plugs diferent? You may need an adapter.

why don't you just use a transformer? Your power supply is probably ruined or you burned up a fuse.

need power adapter.....the currents are different...london has lower voltage then the US
