my comp is p4 with ht tech fsb800 have intel just changed the name to sell more?

dual core means it has 2 cores like having 2 motors in a car HT or hyper threading is a way for one processor to do 2 things at once of it uses 2 different parts of the processor

The problem with processors is that they heat up any lose efficiency.

The dual core ones have two cores, or two processors to share the load.
This means that each core does half the work a normal one would do, hence heating up half as much, and not losing efficiency.
You should see around 50% gain in speed using a 2Ghz (2x1Ghz) dual core compared to a 2Ghz single core processor.

No there s difference between core duo processors and conroe processors .They are different in architecture .Take care

no. dual core 2 is super fast.
in Mac computers, it makes them run 5x faster than computers using older processors.
it also allows boot camp! wahoO!!!
