It could be a symptom of being a normal human being and enjoying not having to bounce out the door first thing in the day...

I can easily lay in bed and do nothing but watch tv or read books etc. or even sleep and enjoy every minute or hour of it.LOL Yes, I do sleep even more when I am stressed or depressed but sometimes it's just laziness and sometimes I really am tired and need a break from going and going and going and going. But is it depression? I don't know...I guess that would depend on why you're laying in bed doing nothing. And can you "snap out of it" or does it last for weeks or months? Cause if it's weeks/months, it's either depression or you're lazy and you need a hobby. See a doc to make sure. :)

You might ask: "How much sleep is needed for it to be enough?" The answer can vary widely between individuals and can vary over time, but it is often suggested that in order to stay alert the next day, an average adult should get about 8 hours of sleep each night. Some people may need more sleep, others less, but if you are not getting enough sleep, you can build up a "sleep debt". Most individuals will need to sleep longer on a subsequent night in order to "repay" that sleep debt or they may begin to experience excessive sleepiness during the day. Many people who do not get enough sleep during the work week try to make up for this by sleeping in on the weekends to reduce their sleep debt. If too much sleep is lost, it may not be possible to completely reverse the negative effects of not getting sufficient sleep during the week. For some people, their extended and changing schedules just do not allow time for a sufficient night’s sleep. If this is the case for you, you should talk to your doctor about treatment options for excessive sleepiness.

No its not a symptom of depression. Its just that you tend to relax more after a long week at work/college/school etc.
The fact is you feel tired of the same routine of getting up at the same time, same work, come back at same time, eat at same time, sleep at same time. So its just a change that you spend quality time lying & chill out for long on ur day off.

Do you not find this a complete waste of a day? I love nothing more on my days off than to do things I don't have chance to do when I am at work, I read, walk, go for a good work out and enjoy some 'me' time. If you really find it difficult to drag yourself out of bed on your days off, it could be sheer exhaustion or a touch of depression, speak to your doctor. Good luck hunny xx

I enjoy just lying in bed on my free time with just the right music and the perfect book on my hand. Our body deserves to rest even just for a short time. Our mind needs to relax. Enjoying what you're doing is taking away the stress in your mental and physical life, And lying in bed is just one perfect way to re-energize my tired and exhausted body. Hibernate even just half a day, it will surely do you good in the end!!! Relax and enjoy life!

I enjoy it too, and it doesn't have to be a symptom of depression at all. If you feel like you have other signs of depression or you want some reassurance about it maybe you should have a chat with your doctor...if you can drag yourself out of bed!

You have the right to feel free and at ease with yourself especially on your day offs. And the best way to find peace of mind it to just spend half of your day lying on your bed. This is the best way to relax.
