A nanostructure is any structure whose dimensions are best measured in nanometers, or billionths of a meter. That is, objects smaller than 100 nm. Such objects are said to be nanoscale. Examples of nanostructures in nanotechnology include carbon nanotubes and semiconductor nanocrystals.
