Northern Mexico has GREAT beef. If you travel to Torreon (off the tourist track) you can have your choice of restaurants. You can try a variety of Mexican dishes, or even try Argentinian or Brazilian restaurants using the same great beef.
Some suggestions for local Torreon restaurants are Pampas do Brasil, Garufa (Brazilian), La Majada and Steak Palenque (Mexican). If you have time to stay awhile, purchase your beef to cook at home or purchase it pre-cooked on the weekends "para llevar." Our favorite chain of meat markets is Carnes la Laguna, but there are others. You can buy pre-marinated "arrechera" there as well as many other wonderful cuts of meat.
And while you're here, don't forget to try "cabrito"... roasted goat!

In Cancun, check at Viva la Vaca restaurant at the hotel zone, Convention Center block. They have a very good steak and the prize is reasonable.

Went on honeymoon to Cancun, Mexico a few years ago. There was a great steakhouse there called "The Argentinian Steakhouse". I never saw steaks that size before and I have to admit they were the best I ever tasted. I remember it was a bit pricey but the service and food was excellent.

Howdy Bianca. Check out Ruth's on Kukuclan Blvd in Cancun (Kilometer 13?). This may sound a bit strange, but when are you going to be there and do you have access to a computer or internet access while there? I've been doing some "mystery shopping" lately and one of the companies I've signed up with is looking for someone to go to Ruth's before September 26- your meal (I think for 2) would be paid for PLUS you would actually get paid for going there. Check out the link below and type in Mexico for country.
you need to register as a shopper for this company to get reimbursed, if you can met their qualifications- and, then, you need to be given/assigned the job. I was going to give you the link directly to the company job board, but the only way to do that was to have my e-mail address and shopper password showing so I needed to just give you the company address to register.

Almost anywhere, and to boot, it won't be full of hormones like the ones you've eaten in the states. It will be real beef - You'll love it !
