I see these "HD ready" stickers on TVs, but I have no idea whether that even applies to my MacBook Pro. Can someone help me out? I'd like an explanation of what "HD ready" means in terms of a computer, in particular my MB Pro.

Just to clarify, I'm familiar with what "HD ready" means on a TV. I want to know whether I can:

1) Play HD DVDs (aren't they a different physical format? I know blu-ray certainly is) on my current MacBook Pro DVD drive without buying new hardware

2) Display HD pictures on my MB Pro screen, or
3) send HD signals to my HD ready TV from my MB Pro

Thanks!

High Definition Television (HD) uses the latest technology to bring clearer and sharper television pictures to your home.

Your macbook Pro maybe capable of sending HD to a HD ready TV, but your Mac screen isn't HD ready.

The label "HD ready" on a television means;

It can display minimum 1280*768,
It is equiped with a HDMI socket.

A computer "HD Ready" means that the TV out socket on the graphics card is capable of sending a HD signal to a television, so that TV can be used to watch HD programmes with your computer.

Is a MacBook Pro HDReady? I have no idea.
