I believe we are born as a neutral with two seeds in us-imagine the yin yang symbol in you. It is our choice which will thrive and which will wither as we grow. If that symbol was always rotating within you then you have to find a balance and it is our lives and circumstances that cause the light and dark to interact-it is how we deal with the circumstances that make either the light or dark shine through us-
My opinion

Hi.

I believe when we are born, we are neither good nor bad, we are neutral, in the middle so to speak. It depends on several factors that would make us "good" or "bad" people.

1. Upbringing
This entails how your parents raise you, with manners, teach you good things and them nt doing any bad ones infront of you [like smoking, etc - even though you would think its still a kid, but that does have an effect]. And as the child grows, parents hav the responsibility to make him good, teach him good and to forbid the evil. that way, the child would be able to make a decision if anything he faced and he would be ready.

2. Peer pressure
Sometimes, after the child has born he goes to school, college, etc. here it depends on what knd of friends circle he/she has. Because as we all know, peer pressure plays a great part in our teens/uni years. If the circle is good, he will be fine but if it aint, you have a problem. - but again, if he has been well brought up by his parents then he/she should have no problems whatsoever and Religion plays an important role throughout the child's life too.

I guess, that pretty much sums it up to be honest. Parent's Upbringing, teaching good and forbidding evil, giving the child support on his/her every step i.e. be it career, socially, etc - be a friend to the child and preach him his/her religion - that way i dont think there ought to be any problems.

Peace.

GREAT QUESTION, sadly most everyone already gave good answers so not much left for me to say. So hmm ibelieve however as a species we were meant and created for both good n evil. When we're born up to the age of 3 or 4 is when we show that light and goodness. But after that we slowly, steadily but surely begin to absorb and learn Sin from which unfortunately is around and surrounds this world constantly. And as outrageous as this may sound, i think even what we learn from upbringing from our parents is what really potentially harms us the most. Because even tho they being our parents do care for us and do have our best interest at heart, at times unknowingly they passover prejudice and ignorance unto us as infants. Which i think is the seed from which everything else we learn and see in the world grows from good or bad. Cause after all they r only human too, being parents does not dismiss them of this and surely what they have suffered and learned from adolescense somehow stays with them and creates a nucleaus of where their beliefs and morals are stored. But thats the beautiful thing about it too, cause we're not meant to be perfect anyway. We are capable of having both good and evil attributes. So to make my answer short lol...i think humans ARE infact good in nature but only when they r first brought into the world, and as we grow we slowly learn and absorb evrything that there is in this world, we inevitably gain those evil sinful ways as well. I guess u can say its a part of the Human DNA that we can only learn with time and experience in the world.

I have seen a 5 year old kid laughing an evil laugh when his older brother would remind him of how he used to torture that cat and put it in the microwave, a 5 year old kid, he seemed kind of evil to me, his older brother would just shake his head because even though he was only 3 years older than his brother he saw that his younger brother had something wrong in his head as well, he was never like that even when he was younger, and neither was I, but I also saw lots of mean younger children as well, I think it seems that we are for the most part evil by nature, it seems that way

Hello!! :o) I believe that humans are evil by nature. That's not to say that we all want to DO evil things - but that evil comes more naturally to us. A parent doesn't have to teach his kid how to be selfish and self-serving. A parent has to teach his kid how to be considerate, compassionate, caring and generous. Unfortunately - a LOT of parents have failed to do that and that's one of the main reasons [I think] that there are so many violent things going on in the world. Craig!! :o)

I think people are more diverse personality wise than they are different physically. I think some people are "evil" and some "good." There is a spectrum or bell curve of personalities and it is also a multidimensional curve because there are many traits to consider. All people are extremely different. They also differ by culture, upbringing, nature, nurture, geographical location and etc. Very interesting as I thought about this phenomenon the other day.

i have a show recorded on my DVR, just the last half of it. I think it's called "Does Science Give Us Truth". a interviewee says that
"early creatures, in our evolutionary history also had the problem of representing the world they live in, mentally. but they weren't interested in mirroring the abstract nature of the world,, they were interested in making it through breakfast to lunch, and getting their genes into the next generation. So Practical criteria tended to steer both the structure of their biological organization, and the concepts they embraced, in a life time. I think we are still in the same situation. "
I think that people generally don't have the luxury of deciding weather every thing they do is "good" or "evil". Practicality, generally doesn't allow for it. Generally, I think most people try as hard as possible to meet their own mental models ideas of good behavior,, but , life being as truly difficult as it is,, doesn't really allow for a greater embrace of this sometimes ethereal concept, in day to day activities.

Humans are good by nature because ; humans are created by GOD like they are. man became evil when satan tempted man to do things which is against GOD and everytime man do his evil deeds , thats the temptation of satan

I believe that humans are born with free will and are influenced by their surroundings. I also believe that there is "good" and "evil" in each of us and that it is healthier for a person, as a whole, to achieve balance in this area and all areas of life.

All humans are good AND evil.. It's what they do with their urges and temptations that defines them. People are a product of their environment. The forces that impact their lives, throughout their life, shape and reshape people to become what they are.
