The dominant remote-control technology in home-theater applications is infrared (IR). Infrared light is also known as plain-old "heat." The basic premise at work in an IR remote control is the use of light to carry signals between a remote control and the device it's directing. Infrared light is in the invisible portion of the electromagnetic spectrum.

An IR remote control (the transmitter) sends out pulses of infrared light that represent specific binary codes. These binary codes correspond to commands, such as Power On/Off and Volume Up. The IR receiver in the TV, stereo or other device decodes the pulses of light into the binary data (ones and zeroes) that the device's microprocessor can understand. The microprocessor then carries out the corresponding command.

The remote sends out light that creates a serial pattern of ones and zeros which are sent by the transmitter repeatedly to the receiver at the far end. The receiver recovers the pattern of ones and zeros, which are sent to a decoder circuit. When the decoder circuit gets a pattern that matches what has been set by the user (Or preset by the manufacturer) it provides a control signal to whatever the gadget is that you want to control.Infra-red light is just below the red portion of the visible spectrum, and so is invisible to the human eye.Same as normal light, just in a color we can't see.It goes in a straight line. That's why it has to be pointed in the general direction as the T.V

Infrared is part of the light spectrum....

IR control has some dependencies,...
line of site - the transmitting bulb needs to have an unobstructed path to the reciever
range - the bulb only has so much intensity, so there is a limit on the distance which the application will work

the rest deals with DSP, FFT, and a bunch of other crap that you probably have no idea about... but that is ok, you have to start from somewhere.

InfraRed wavelength is 700-1000nm

Remote control devices are communications devices consisting of a transmitter & receiver.

The selectivity of the pulse of reciever and transmitter is tuned so that they are compatible with each other. Digital circuits help to determine the number of pulses apply to a particular function. for instance the number of pulses for a volume command differs from those used for a channel increment command.

i have attended a lot of seminars, read counless books on forex trading and it all cost me thousands of dollars. the worst thing was i blew up my first account. after that i opened another account and the same thing happened again. i started to wonder why i couldn,t make any money in forex trading. at first i thought i knew everything about trading. finally i found that the main problem i have was i did not have the right mental in trading. as we know that psychology has great impact on our trading result. apart from psychology issue, there is another problem that we have to address. they are money management, market analysis, and entry/exit rules. to me money management is important in trading. i opened another account and start to trade profitably after i learnt from my past mistake. i don't trade emotionally anymore.
if you are serious about trading you need to address your weakness and try to fix it. no forex guru can make you Professional trader unless you want to learn from your mistake.
