I'll try to put this with as much truth as possible. I am Indian, so my sources of Information will be tainted.. but I believe I'm capable of being unbiased here.

Kashmir is a chunk of land.
India and Pakistan was formed by the British, remember, because before that "India" was 5-10 major kingdoms and 20-30 smaller ones.
The British took over all these bickering kingdoms and united them (using greed mostly, and guns)
They bought over the weaker kingdoms, bribed, traded etc their way to the complete take over.

Blah, blah, blah - We fought for Freedom.. Gandhi was brilliant.. Non-violence, what a beautiful concept... so simple, yet poweful.

Then, India was divided cause all the politicians were asses.
Depending on which country you live in, here's the story
India: The Muslims, under the leadership of Jinha, burnt, raped, and pillaged till they got a seperate country. Jinha was a powerhungry crazy dude.
And it was the Brits fault too.
And Gandhis fault cause he didn't fight or something.
And everyone elses fault except the Congress Party chaps.

But, history is written by the victors, right?

Pakistan's Story -
Exactly the opposite. Make the Hindus the bad guys, Jinha the savior.. blame everyone else too.
History depends on who rules.


So, yeh, Indo-Pak hate.
No one benefits, except hate-mongers.
Politicians benefit, because fear and hate give power.

The people of Kashmir Suffer.
Indians and Pakistanis don't realise that Kashmir HAS PEOPLE!
Real human beings who suffer like hell.
Do people who're continously being targetted Care a F*** about which country their part of.
Kashmiris hate either - indians, pakistanis or both.
Ofcourse, some support one country, and blame the other.
Or they just want to be left alone.

The only people who really CARE about WHO OWNS it, are the Politicians, and the people WHO DON"T suffer.. city folk like me.
It's an Ego thing for us..

Crap, just let them be.. Our "Indian" Pride" is killing people we don't know and never met.

Is Pride more important that the life of innocents?
Pride is folly, and ALL religions condemn it.

And yeh - Just one more thing.. Our (Indian) army doesn't treat Kasmiris well either.

Good question but pretty tough to answer but let me give it a try.
The benefits of Indo - Pak hatred are reaped by the following ;
People making firearms.
People selling firearms.
People in Politics.
People who believe that Religion is greater than the nation.
People who are rationalist in their approach ,
the list may go on but the ultimate sufferer is the common man who does not need to be labelled as Hindu / Muslim but as a human being.
The sufferer is humanity, the sufferer is the economy of both the Nations which is drained in maintaining the forces at borders, maintaining the defensive mechanism.
The sufferers are the families of the defence forces which are posted at borders. the list may continue but great thing if we could propagate the word around so that the generations next can live in peace.

No benefits...Hatred yields nothing really..but its a matter of patriotism right? each one loves one's own country no matter what and cannot bear to part with even an inch of land..and if at all there is a benefit..it is 4 the political leaders only..its a matter that has been going on 4 years right? and no progress so far..

Sometimes one really wonders if there are benefits at all to age old hatred and animosity. Is it really worth in the end ? I wish history was as long as a human beings life. In the end it is ashes or dust.

Well the fact is whenever there is a fight between two parties, there is always a third party who benefits.

in this case the third party being terrorists and politicians.

The India Pak hatred is being used by terrorists and politicians to create barriers in religion caste, they are using it very well to destroy humanity.

It is only upto us to resolve matter, and we should ensure that no one benefits, simple solution to this is "ABOLISH HATRED"

this is a stupid question.. u got2 kno da history behind the conflict..

india n pakistan basiclly fight over kashmir, a land which belongs to india.. part of it has been illegaly occupied by pakistan n da pakis want da whole of it..

now naturally, india will never give up the land just like that, hence it is resisting the pakistani extremists who r infiltrating into india through kashmir to destabilise indian economy as well as politics, besides bombing the civilians [earlier in kashmir, now almost evrywhere]

due to all this, both india n pakistan face tremendous losses, but its the kashmiris who suffer the most. plus civilians of other states too.

i dunno about the benefits, but probably the politians of both sides.. coz if sincerely treated, this problem can b solved in one day [as in who actully rightfully owns kashmir!]
