I was not aware ofthe rose having a name, but you should know that there is apparently an essay written by Catherine Belsey called "The Name of the Rose in Romeo and Juliet" -- It's in a couple of anthologies, and you can find some (rather cryptic) notes on it here:

i was watching CSI the other day and i think they just called it the romeo&juliet rose or the Juliet rose
or something like that

was there a name for the rose? i thought the point was - a rose by any name would smell as sweet?
