I would say it probably is. . . of course, there are always people who would skin a rabbit without eating the meat (or seeing that someone else does.)

rabbit fur......comes from rabbits.......to get the fur, assuming it is real fur, you need a rabbit. the rabbit wears the fur, you want the fur, plus you're hungry, chase it, then when you catch it, just snap it's neck real fast, no pain.....depending on the size of your coat and your rabbit stew you may need to catch several rabbits or more. make sure when you skin them, try not to cut the hide, rather, peel it as to prevent tears and look more natural. after you have gathered all the pelts, and cooked your stew, then just find a tanner and have him make you up a coat. pay him with the stew if you are vegetarian. you can also get rabbit fur from "rabbit farms",,,i think, could be wrong, (sorry). a rabbit farm is where they raise rabbits exclusively for their fur. i don't know what is done with the meat from those farms. I've never thought about it, but if you want a fur coat, get one. so many animals are killed on the highways and urban sprawl, road kill from l.a. to n.y.c. you could get a coat that way. really, just buy a nice rabbit coat, they are soft and warm, they look nice and the best of all they feel really really good one. At one point i had one, but lost it in the second divorce.

Probably not. Rabbit meat isn't as popular as the fur, I think, but if you want to make sure the fur you wear comes from meat that hasn't gone to waste, you can breed it yourself and have a good coat in just over a year.
