the bbc link shows that it was not assult, but a guesture.. i am not a fan of this woman at all, however on this occassion i think when reading the full story, she has nothing to answer.
bbc news page:
Cherie Blair has been investigated by police over claims that she motioned to slap a 17-year-old boy.
Strathclyde police took statements from witnesses to the alleged incident, which occurred at a national school sports event in Glasgow last Saturday.
Mrs Blair was reported to have made a playful gesture to a boy who made a "rabbit ears" gesture behind her head.
Police said "it had been established no incident had taken place" and that the inquiry into the matter was now closed.
Six detectives were sent to investigate after officials from the Child Protection in Sport Unit complained to police.
"The Strathclyde police undertook an investigation, including taking statements from a number of people who were present," Downing Street said in a statement.
"These included the 17-year-old boy involved and Mrs Blair's protection officer, who was with her at all times, who said that nothing had occurred between Mrs Blair and the youngster.
"We understand that no further action is planned."
The boy was named by the Mail On Sunday as Miles Gandolfi, of the England under-17 epee fencing team.
Miles's mother Catherine told the paper that what had happened between Mrs Blair and her son was a light-hearted exchange.
She said: "I have absolutely no idea why it all blew up. It just seems totally bizarre.
"We couldn't believe it when the police got involved. I don't know who complained."

Did she assault a 17 year old teenager?
I don't think so.
Please make sure of facts first, before bringing someone's name into disrepute.
I am no fan of Cherie Blair, but I don't like to see anyone treated unfairly.

Can I suggest that you read the story properly
because its misleading statements such as this that lead to all sorts of problems, and they way you have worded your question could lead to you being sued for Libel.
The complaint was made by someone who was just trying to make money for five minutes of fame and NOT the alleged victim, who has said that No assault had taken place and that he was "larking about" with Cherrie making Rabbit Ears gestures behind her back whilst photos were being taken, she caught him and playfully tapped him on the back, this was all good natured and everyone was OK with it
Although I am not a fan of the Blairs,I do not agree with accusing someone of something they did not do.

She should at least face a court. Teachers who smack have been sent to prison. In my opinion a teacher should have the ability to use reasonable force to control children and smacking should be an option. What excuse has Mrs Blair none. She is not beyond the law like her husband believes he is. However I am not surprised that the Police are taking no action.

She didn't. Just a complete waste of police time. I hate to think how many times during my teaching career I've raised my hand to a recalcitrant student in jest. Had a laugh about it and a better relationship afterwards.

The trouble is, Cherie Blair is a lawyer/barrister, specialising in human rights, so if she was defending this lad she would argue that his human rights were infringed by him being assaulted. Sadly, because it is her who (allegedly) did the assaulting, she would argue that it was her human right to be able to do it!
I agree that she should in any case be charged with being ugly in public, citing several thousand previous offences.
