The keyboard works fine but when I move the mouse the reciver acts like it doesn't even pick up the signal.

the mouse needs a battery to transmit the signal to the receiver

if the keyboard and mouse are using the same receiver, then the mouse has dead battery, if different receiver for each then either interrupt conflict or mouse receiver is bad.. try swapping the receivers and see if the mouse works and the keyboard doesn't.. sign of a bad port then

Dirt, usually.

Also check your surface. If its a laser mouse and the surface is shiny(like a magazine) you're going to get a F*d up signal.

It could be a number of problems, broken laser, dirty laser (try wiping it off), damaged circuits, etc., etc...

another reason it doesn't work is maybe you have to.........CHANGE THE BATTERIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
