Ah, balancing equations--fun, fun. ;)
1) Well, you can see right off that you're going to need some more H to make the water (H2O). So I go ahead and put a 2 in front of the HNO3.
2) Now, the more complicated part: the iron nitrate. Fe(NO3)3 (looked that up on yahoo).
3) Well, on the left side of the equation you can see you have a ton of O's. 9, to be exact. And 2 N's. And 2 Fe's.
4) So look on the right side: H's:2. N's: 3.
5) That won't work. Make that 3 HNO3's on the left. We'll neede another Fe on the right, too. So make that 2 iron nitrate's. Start again. (Trial and error with this stuff).
6) Ah! No crap! This one's hard! Give me a sec...freakin' O's. :)
7)Okay, got it. You'll need 6 HNO3's to make enough O's. Leave the Fe2O3 at one. Right side: 3 waters and 2 iron nitrates. To double-check, total the elements on each side, and they should be equal
This is one of those problems where one particular element (O, in this case) gives you grief. So I kept jacking up the HNO3 (the primary source of O) until the O's totalled up. Usually, after that one irritating element comes out right, the rest will as well. Also, making sure you know the formula for iron nitrate is important. I had to look that up online, because I've never been good with naming. Hope that helps!

6 HNO3 + Fe2O3 --> 2 Fe(NO3)3 + 3H2O
deal with the H and O first..

Starting with the unbalanced equation:
Fe2O3 + HNO3 -> Fe(NO3)3 + H2O. Balance Fe and N::
Fe2O3 + 6HNO3 -> 2Fe(NO3)3 + H2O. Balance H:
Fe2O3 + 6HNO3 -> 2Fe(NO3)3 + 3H2O. The O's balance, so we're done.

Well, water is H2O, and since you only have one molecule of hydrogen, I'd GUESS it's something like H2O + Fe2NO4
