I agree with several answers already posted.
1) Let the child be innocent.
2) It is common for people to take of clothes when hot.
(Warning- personal reference: Sometimes, during the winter I will be cold before bed so I will put on extra layers, and then wake up in the morning to find out that during my sleep I took off a layer or two without any direct thought.)
3) Yes, when the child is old enough to have friends sleep over or vice versa it will be important for them to understand that we don't sleep "necki" with other people.

My children sleep with PJs on, but is there a reason that you think being naked isnt normal? There is a time and place to be naked, if a child knows that, then its not like they will be walking out the door naked for school.
Sometimes it is more comfortable (especially on hot nights) for a person (adult or child) to sleep in just underwear.
I suppose it also depends on your definition of "naked"--do you mean totally without any type of clothing on? Or do you mean in just underwear?

before any comment is made, "normal" needs to be defined. the meaning we adults assign to any word is arbitrary. well, i don't think there is any problem with a 4 year old sleeping naked in bed. as one fellow Y! Answers user says...kids are definitely innocent. they do not have any sense of shame.

Sure. The child is probably just going through a phase. But if you continue to let the child do this, plz don't let the child go over other people's house to sleep over. Just keep this as a family matter and in your own house

Age really has no relation, but due to mind getting tuned in a particular slot, may be some restriction is needed. But a four year old child should not have any problem, unless it is too cold and needs covers to protect.

Yes! A four year old is a perfect, innocent creature. They don't have a sense of shame or embarrassment about their bodies yet. Let that child have that innocence as long as possible.

isn't it wonderful to learn from the child again to be natural.
Eat when you are hungry, drink when thirsty
take off your clothes when hot.
Later the child will understand about conventions.
