I just watched this on a comprehensive study. Briefly it covered the Israeli Kaboots (sp) which was the thing that made Israel work and some still work today. The problem was the youth were lured away because of the glitz of modern competitive society. Cuba has made great strides in education and medical area where their care is superior to ours. The problems were similar to the kaboots or kabutz whatever. The places that were high class b4 were crowded and some of the special stuff was lost but no really poor people. The youth once again have no appreciation not having experienced the severe poverty of earlier times and wanted modern western glitz. The system can therefor provide good medical care and erase poverty if it is done right but it lacks the pulling force of progress which the young are apparently willing to give up security for. Thus it does not last.

I think there is a solution in an inbetween approach. In our society we have the people who would prefer that labor was cheap and the luxuries they desire be produced at great human sacrifice. This is clearly letting greed which is a deep sin run rampant and we can see th results around us. If we put a limit on what a person could actually accumulate we could have the best of both worlds. No way is a CEO actually worth mega money and a garbage collector worth zilch. The standard of living does not improve in that system. We could say limit personal accumulation to 100 times what the poorest person makes and the qualification to be in the formula that a person be willing to contribute at his actual ability so the disabled are cared for but no free rides for the ones who do not want to contribute. In this manner if a person wanted to raise his standard he would raise every ones standard. Wahla incentive and fairness. Now go out there and sell the program bearing in mind this is not a new idea and people have been assasinated for proposing it b4.

In communism they accept that everything belongs to the state and that everyone is equal (all human beings). However, there is more advanced level of communism, which is called spiritual communism. In spiritual communism we accept that everything belongs to God and that all living beings are equal (including plants and animals). God is meant to be in the center, if the center is lost, nobody can be happy. Spiritual communism can bring true peace and prosperity to the world. There will be no scarcity of anything, poor animals will not be sent to slaughterhouses and innocent trees will not be cut down just to make paper on which print some nonsense. Ordinary communism cannot help to bring the world out of chaos, but spiritual communism can.

Communism is not a belief system. It is a method of organizing an economy. Non-soviet-style communism (farm collectives, co-operative distribution of products) seems to work well on a small scale. Soviet-style communism (centralized control of all production) has resulted in too many instances of human rights abuses to be thought a success to me.

anyone who believe is a total idiot. it has failed monumentally on several occasions, and is the reason why all the former communist countries are dieng and are third world. china is the only exception because there are a mix of communism and capitolism where free trade is taking precedents. think of it this way, in communism, everyone is suppossed to be equal with no superiors, yet some people live in luxury and others have to wait in breadlines.

My husband calls me a communist all the time. I feel that if some of the wealth that people have that make millions in movies were spread around a little that he could in better the lives of so many people. When you have millions, do you really need it? Is it even right for a football player to get paid 1 or 2 million a game, game I say. Paid to play a game. When their are so many people with out. There should not be one person in America without the ability to get medical care, not one child going to bed hungry,
There needs to be some kind of balance.

Only as the original Apostles advocated it. As an economic system, history reveals communism has never persevered past 2 generations in longevity. Man is greedy, never satisfied, which is anithema to a docil society accepting communism.

Yes, but actually socialism. However I do not believe in what was done to it. The concept is sound, but as long as there are people whose greed turns it into a similar rich and poor mess that capitalism has, it is not worth it.

As in... can it do what it claims??? NOOOOOOO!!!! Been there, saw that... The worst of all evils! Take it from someone who saw it first hand. Just like you'll never know about the WW 1 and WW 2 as good as someone who's lived through those wars, you will never know about communism from the books as good as someone who lived through it.
