think about it instead of saying i'll kil you which implys just taking some ones life it gets changed to i'll destroy you which actually implys you will ceasce to exist. also they edit nose bleeds but still show the cotton balls in their noses after wards, and adding bikinis on naked girls for the most part you see cleavege any way. not to mention the took of speedy gonzalez because he was a mexican and it implied mexicans can run fast over the wall or something and i loved that cartoon.

Sure parents have a great deal about it, but you know what, I as parent-2-B have seen alot of violence and killing and other stuff like that on cartoons. They've been geting more tasteless than they were in the past, and I for one am glad that something's being done to help protect our children!
Now, on the other hand, there's the issue of the cartoons that are aimed at adults. There, they should hve free reign to do as they see fit, as they're directed towards adults.
So yes, I believe it's a combination of parents, parents-to-be, and just plain out concerned citizens that voice out against the violence and other indecent things directed towards children in their cartoons.

I think it's mothers who messed up cartoons. Face it, a guy will watch Coyote get flattened by an anvil and laugh while most women go into the mommy mode and just hate seeing anybody hurt, even a cartoon. I grew up watching the uncensored ones and I never hit anybody with a big mallet, walked off a cliff, or put my fingers into a gun to prevent me from getting shot. These are cartoons for Pete's sake, they are just mind candy.

Yeah i hate dubbed, cencored anime. It's like they take something, the way it's supposed to be and change it into a whole different thing. Anime is art, made by an artist right? So when you change it into something else, it isn't the artists work anymore is it? If you don't want your children to watch it, then fine, don't let them. Anime isn't censored in Japan, so why in the West?

Things have definitely changed over the years. Twenty years ago, all you had to do was to teach kids that what happens in cartoons and TV and movies isn't real, and teach them the difference between right and wrong. It doesn't matter what we do, we can't protect our children from everything nor can we protect them forever. We can only hope that when they go out on their own, that we taught them to know better, and they are wise enough to learn from their own mistakes. I watched those cartoons, too, (heck, I draw them myself) but I turned out okay.

Yes... mostly because of parents.... and the fact that most t.v. channels don't want parents to be upset with them for showing such things. It's also because anime is thought of in the U.S.A. as a "kids" thing... even though we have shows like Simpsons and Family Guy.... somehow anime falls into "kids stuff" when it is mostly for all ages in Japan.
