I have a 7 yr old and her dad hasn't really been her life! He is married and has 2 step kids he is in the military and doesn't pay child support! I have done everything possible and I still haven't gotten any help! I even put her on welfare to see if they could help me but so far nothing! I feel like I should just stop trying and keep doing it on my own!

contact his chain of command, they wont let this happen. the military is very strict about this. they will garnish his pay.

The only thing you can do is to sue him for child support. However, that means you would need to hire a lawyer and pay his fees. So it might not be financially worth it at this time.

But you should look and see if there are any local legal aid services that deal with family law issues - sometimes there are charitable organizations that will provide legal representation.

But since he is is the military, I would still give a lawyer a call and see what he or see thinks... he is violating some laws and also being paid by the government. His wages could be docked.

I ask the same others ask, as long as you have all info on him they should have it all done fedually. But as long as your on welfare/afdc you wont see a dime. You'll hear about it, but nothing more. Because the state is giving you money so he owes the state. Especially in the military. CA it seems to be one of the best states to be in for the kind of stuff. And from what I saw with a friend of mine, he got $600 taken out of his check and $450 of it went to her for a month fo child support, and the rest to pay restatution for back pay to the state. But if your on aid at the time, the most you'll see of it is $50 .

What state do you live in? What kind of laws do you have? Have you contacted politicians in your state. that's what my mom did to get CS frmo my father and it worked. they fought for my mom and got stuff done. because the state's atty kept giving my mom we can't find him routine even when she supplied the address. when she wrote a state rep the states atty magically found him.

also if you are not prepared to share custody, then try on your own because paying CS in most circumstances grants that parent visitation rights and custodiy rights.

I went through this same struggle, I ended up getting medical and they went after him to get insurance coverage for my son, they also went after him for child support. Once things got started it took me 2 years to get a check. It was a battle but now I get a check every 2 weeks garnished from his check. He made your child too so it is his responsibility to pay. best of luck to you
