I attend Sam Houston State Univerysity in Texas. It's probably not well known outside of Texas. I'm on my way to earning a Masters Degree in Accounting and I was wondering if it's harder to get a job at a company because I went to a smaller university, as opposed to a Texas A&M or a Texas Tech caliber school?

Or is the degree what is important regardless of the University I attended?

The degree and your knowledge are more important than the school.

That said, larger universities probably have more on-campus recruiting opportunities for their students, so you might have to work harder to find a job.
