try going to sleep

2006-09-16 20:17:06 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 5 0

Really. You know my mom really did get addicted to the computer. My dad bought it
in 98 and she started going in chat rooms.First
she made some friends then she found a man.
She started cheating on my dad and he started sleeping in another room because she would stay on the computer all night and it would keep him from getting the sleep he needed. But he had no idea. She went from almost 350 lbs. to
about 170 lbs. in about 8 months. She ruined
her 20 year marriage with my father. And she
neglected me and my sisters. She stayed locked in her bedroom 24 hours a day talking in
a chat room.Now I have a computer and when I
first got it I would spend like 5 hours at a time but it gets old. It's OK if you don't use it every day.But if you feel like you need it every day
you may have an addictive personality disorder.
It is treatable. But you must see a psychiatrist
and admit that you have an addiction.I know
it sounds stupid to say you have an addiction to
your computer or the Internet or chat rooms but
look what happened to my mom.She lost it.

Resort to other activities. You just gotta find something else you like doing. They say people can break habits after 21 days...try not to get on for that amount of time. Maybe the computer is therapeutic for you. Everybody has a habit or an addiction...you just gotta find something that gives you peace.

Go back in your mind and try to remember things you did before you had a computer. For me,that would be easy. I got my first one just a few months ago. Get outside, more, also. Walks in the Autumn are soooo lovely. You may want to try volunteering. Anything that is constructive and healthy.....do not let yourself get addicted to anything. Good luck, friend.

Better ask yourself. Do you really think you should use the computer. If is no, then don't use it unless if you use it for a purpose. Only you can control yourself and I only can give advice to you. You have to decide for your future.

Find something more fun like - TV, make out, eat, go for a bike ride, draw, do a puzzle, play with your pets, go to an amusement park, by something new, etc.

Push away the Mouse, make a Face @ it like it's weird, and back away slowly, and run away.
