If you don't have the original XP OS disk than i am afriad it is impossible. If you have the disk just pop it in your desktop and if they ask you ( when activating) is this the only computer it is on, say yes and it is a clean install.

I can think of a way with a network and software called GhostImage, but it requires a special setup. The copy protection for most installed software is hidden in the XP/Win folder. Burning a copy on CD will be worthless for either machine, it won't work. Burning a copy of the original installation disc is the way to do it.

Factory installed programs are, in theory, only meant for that computer.
However, some smart people find a way to 'backup' their copy of a bought program on another computer, using bitorrent- almost every program commonly in use is available there. Note, this is probably not legal, but just providing you information that people do it.
Good luck! Let me know if you need any help.

You can make recovery disk as below but will only work on computer made from both computers have specific disks
in nero back it up click on the drive back up click on the system drive click start drive back up best with cd/dvd rewritables then click start drive back up this will make you a series of cd/dvds you can use these to restore your system as the first disk is bootable at start up this restores the computer to its orignal install plus any other programs ect on the drive rewritable disks are the best for this as they can be updated easily if any thing changes on the system you do not need your serial number as this will only restore to the machine it was saved from you also do not need to reformat the drive the disks reinstall to the same partition on the hard drive

No that would not copy all the files that are needed to run the application.
If the original program disks are available then you should be able to install them on either system.
