Runescape SUCKS! Please don't do Runescape. Trying to save you five minutes of filling out an account and realizing how hideous the graphcis are.
I'd try Dark ages, Ragnork Online, or World of Warcraft.
I think they all cost money, but they're the funnest one's I'v heard of. I know you'd like Dark Ages..it's so addicting. But I'm too cheap to buy it, so I dont know how the rest of the game unfolds. :P
Oh and they're all massively multiplayer online games.
I didnt give you the links because I'm too lazy, but you can look them up on google. ;P Good luck!
Oh and search here: http://mpogd.com/ It has a HUGE directory of all online multiplayer games. Plenty of medevil games for ya there. :P

you go through tutorials then when youve finished them you can fight and talk and allsorts
