Does anyone think that Clark will ever let Lana Lang on his secret?

While Smallville has no doubt strayed from a lot of established Superman continuity, there's still a unspoken conceit that ultimately, sometime in the future (even if it's unseen in the run of Smallville) the "classic" situation seen in different incarnations of Superman will emerge--Clark Kent will have his costumed identity of Superman, he'll be romantically entangled with Lois Lane, he'll work at the Daily Planet under Perry White and with young photographer Jimmy Olsen, and his mortal enemy will be Lex Luthor. Less well known but still somewhat part of this "classic configuration" is that Lana Lang is Clark's old friend and confidante who *does* know that he's Superman (and she's married to Pete Ross, to boot)--even before Lois learns the truth.

So just as it's understood that ultimately (again, even if it's not depicted in Smallville's run) Clark becomes Superman, Superman will be Lex's nemesis, and Clark/Supes becomes Lois' love interest, I think there's also some degree of certaintly that Lana will learn his secret.

He tried that... it was in the same episode that she asked her to marry him. Then she died because Lex was onto the fact that she knew something.

Clark now sees it as a case in which that is a forgone conclusion. If Lana knows, she will always be in danger. Clark cares for Lana too much to put her in that situation and, even if it means not being with her, he will do anything to keep her safe.

Yeah, I'm sure, in time, he'll let her know. Doesn't Chloe know his secret already? And in the comic books Clark is married to Lois, who knows that he is Superman.
