The ones that have low self-esteem, selfworth, selfrespect and/or have submissive traits usually enjoy masochistic acts in sex.
Self-esteem is directly correlated with nurture(upbringing)

im guessing.. ppl like diff things. so its the same way ppl grow to like chocolate.. or develope other fetishes. or painful experiences maybe. something messed thm up. mayb theyve been hurt so much... tht theyd rather hurt themseves then b hurt by others?? so many answers.. i dunno.. maybe u should look for online journals on the topic.. u might find something wit supporting evidence
