Cheating happens at many levels. Was this a one time thing that happened in a drunken stupor and he gave into temptation or was this something that he had been doing for a while and was being very sneaky and deceptive? Both situations are wrong but one is easier to forgive than the other.

Under either circumstance....before I would consider forgiving, he would have to be sincerely sorry, truly see the error of his way, and swear to never do it again. With all of that.... I don't know if I could forgive.

Just my thoughts.....Good luck!

The real truth of the matter is you can never forget, yes easy to forgive sometimes, but always in the back of your mind there is this doubt, he did it once, does a leopard change spots, take ex Pres. Clinton for example, how many times did she forgive, but do you really think she has forgotten? The real problem is even though this fact is tucked away in the back of your mind and you think you have forgotten, at the first sign of an argument, it will pop forward from you sub conscious and you will throw it up at him, which will only add fire to the argument, I think you need to find a different person and move one, unless you are different than most of us,or you just like pain and suffering! Either way Good Luck!

It seems that most women won't truly forgive anyone for cheating unless they admit to it and swear to never do it again. Was this a one time thing or one of several incidents? If he says never again, will you believe him or not? If not, you may as well move on or you will spend the next many years wondering where he's at and with whom all the time.

You can't. As much as you want to, it will always be in your mind somehow. You should really leave him anyways because MOST of the time it doesn't work out. but i guess that is not what you asked so just follow your heart and good luck!!

Well first you have to give it time.It took me a year and a half just to stop being angry and stop crying about it. eventually i forgave him for cheating but never for hurting me so deeply,if that makes sense.now 6 years later we have been seperated over ayear and i still think of it.

You don't.
It's like having a giant rock in the middle of your living room.
You walk around it every day.
But it's too big to go away.

YOU DON'T AND WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO. YOU MIGHT LIVE WITH IT, BUT FORGIVE, NO.
I DON'T KNOW IF SOMEONE IS STUPID FOR CONTINUING, OR JUST AFRAID NOT TO.
YOU WILL NEVER TRUST THEM AGAIN, YOU WILL ALWAYS WONDER.
