YES! Great question....there hasn't been a good act signed in 10 years. And there have been so many outstanding acts on independent labels that have been ignored by the major record companies. Instead, they prefer to throw more money at those amazing talents of peope like the Simpsons sisters or Hillary Duff. Now there's some talent that's leading a generation to mediocre crap-dom.

Spot on!! Everything's today is all showy - like cappucinos: all froth, no real substance. And the Grammy goes to MTV. Everybody these days want to see how the songs are sung, presented, rather then hear the music. Whenever I spin James Taylor on 33 1/3rpm I don't want to do anything else but listen to him from my decent hi-fi system. People hardly listen nowadays, they just want distractions.

[Pssst: i'm all of 38 years old]

I do! Repetitive crap about sex and drugs seems to be the most popular, namely rap. Punk has become another marketing scam to get suck money out of the pockets of the parents of young kids. Rock has no new innovators and only a few good hangers on from it's glory days (planning on hearing Bob Dylan's new album soon). My theory is that all the good music has been made and the best we're going to get from here on out is imitation, because it seems like the few times some one does do something new it just kind of sucks. Ready to bust out the old records to listen to for awhile?

i'm purely ill of listening to approximately her. on the top of the day, she will finally end up the same talentless teenager, her mom would have all the money that her daughter made, and individuals will overlook approximately her. provide up giving her a media profile, do not click on the songs, and she or he disappears. If songs are a flop, you do not pay attention approximately singers interior the media till they make a comeback.

I think it is.

It's really the industry's own fault.
At the beginning, it was Music first, then Business.
Now, it's almost all business with some regurgitated media in the guise of the new singer/songwriter you just gotta pay to see and hear.

Yes, i do. Rockers wear makeups and rappers only care about how much they made annually and never give a damn about music. More and more record labels searching beautiful people and not TALENTED musicians. Paris hilton n kevin federline in the music industry??!!! This is the END OF MUSIC!!!
