they are just the gay people and hippies.... when in fact 48 percent of the population voted for Kerry... an act most Conservatives would consider to be very liberal (whether it is or not is up to discussion, but I'm talking about their perceptions right now)...

so in fact we're one out of every two people on average... a little fewer in the south, a little more in the North and california...

we're out there... maybe you're garbage men... maybe you're dentist... maybe you're teen delievering the pizza... but we're out there...

BOO!...

hahaha....

the sad thing is... that probably scared some of you... we're not really as mean as you guys think we are... we're just normal folks that believe things a little different than you do...

I don't like to fall into their trap of labeling all democrats as liberal. I am a very proud liberal but that is a ploy by them to motivate their base against what they see as a pro-gay, pro-illegals, etc.. group.

Anyways, just noting that. I'm not sure what portion of the democratic party are actually liberal.

I think what is meant by the term liberal these days is "far left progressives". These people that like Air America or think Michael Moore makes documentaries are a minority. Democrats are half the country. This is why you're hearing a lot about the Democrats selling out to the far left and what a mistake it is. In actuallity there are liberal in the Republican Party.

In Pennsylvania William Penn, a true liberal, began the freedoms that became our constitution and this country. He was religious but gave others the right to choose their own beliefs. The story of his life reads like camelot. He believed that we were all here to do for each other and to help those with less. The liberals of this state have elected republican senators and a democratic Gov. because we use our own minds. This year it is time to remind one of those Senators(Santorum)that his days are numbered. He and his family live in Pa." only a
month a yr" Go to the US Senate site and see what type of bills he has voted for and against and you will be as mad as the good folks from this State. He has resorted to putting his small children in ads telling off those who don't agree with him.I look at this pretend Christian and I am very proud to be a Liberal. We have a Democratic state

I think that this particular brand of conservative sees the extremist whack-job left-wingers that talk radio and the like show them - who are, in fact, a small portion of the population - and think that they represent the average liberal mind. I know from personal experience that liberals are all over the place - most of my co-workers at my last store, my current and former girlfriends, my family, even my last bridge partner all tilt to the left of center. But it's all good - it gives me another perspective on things.

Correction, 48% of the register voters voted for the democrats (so they tell us). The Majority of Americans don't bother to vote at all. You are correct in that the majority of American are on the left of center. The right just are better at making a whole lotta noise and acting superior. Most folks don't give a crap what they think or see it as entertainment. When push comes to shove we all just live our lives as we see fit. The rest is just background noise.

LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL you fairly prefer to do a touch prognosis on marriage. with the exception of polygamy; marriage has never been one difficulty for hundreds of years. we've redefined it such quite some circumstances for the era of history that folk do not even see the redefinitions. shall we see 1st it all started out as a mundane non non secular theory to dispense with resources and then used to create clans and blood ties to others as well as forge alliances and meld households. Then faith were given in touch Then we made it in basic terms a million on a million fairly of the a million guy and as many better halves as he might want to help Then it develop into alright to marry human beings from different countries Then it develop into alright to marry human beings from different religions Then it develop into alright to marry those who were a quite some colour. enable's not overlook that females had no resources rights or authority contained in the early marriages in accordance to the vows and rules we were replacing the definition for 1000's of years so why do not you tell me why everybody else receives to redefine it yet gays can not? or perhaps as all is asserted and finished i love how your argument is "we'd want to consistently save issues in basic terms the way they were 1000's of years in the past" lol you recommend like this new fandangled technologies referred to as the internet and recognize what enable's bypass again to being ruled by employing a set of warlords who settle each and every thing through warfare...that develop into the way it develop into too so who the F do those goddamn Dbags who got here up with the rule of thumb of regulation and non violent skill transitions imagine they are? Actually, the vast majority of the time the word "liberal" is used, except in self-reference, it simply means "them that I doesn't like".

So, it's basically a meaningless label in most discussions, because most of the people using it don't have an actual definition, and the referenced group keeps getting redefined to prove whatever point the ranters are trying to make.

Less people self-report as 'liberals' now because the right have systematically and deliberately demonized the word. 'Liberal' used to be a badge of honour and the vast majority of politicians would self-describe that way just 20 years ago, including the majority of Republicans. I'm a liberal and proud.

Actually most polls show America to be liberal. And these polls weren't exactly done by liberal pollsters.

And recent polls show Liberal Democrates having a 3 - 1 advantage.
