A friend who is found to have hepatitis B virus claims that his doctor told him he is a carrier but he cannot pass the virus on to another. I doubt his claim. Is it true?

I work at a nursing home and take care of patients with hepC and hepB. Your friend can only pass it on to others if he has an open wound and his blood is mixed with someone else's blood. You can not catch it through his saliva or other body secretions, just blood.

My niece caught it through sex.
My brother (not the nieces dad) caught it through work environment, cleaning sewer.
Many newborns get it from sucking the mothers milk.
The inviromental health people traced it to that.
It's like AIDs they tell us you can't catch it through casual contact. Buullll.
