I asked another question and I realized something. I realize my boyfriend doesn't own television, cd player, radio or anything like that. He have huge fish tank in place where most would have television and a lot of books. He also have fish tank in almost every rooms.I know he have moneys for television or radio because he have a pool table, laptop, and a several cameras.

I know he doesn't have any religion so it can't be religion, he doesn't live with anyone either. When I asked him about it, he simply say he doesn't like it. I'm wondering if there's more to it than he's letting in?

Actually his apartment is very well furnished and deocrated. That's other reason I find it odd he have no television or radio.

i guess he is not materialistic.... he believes in being simple.... what one individual believes to be significant may not be significant to the other person... so you can let him be... if not buying a TV makes him happy than that's good isn't it.... he is not stuck to the 'idiot box' like so many million ppl who are addicted!

Many people don't want to spend their money and are happy to save it and live without stuff.

Just a note, though: While its perfectly sensible for a person not to spend money, there's a point where a person who won't buy anything to set up an apartment that feels like a home may have some issues. If he has furniture but just doesn't have a television, cd player, etc. that's not necessarily a big deal. Many people have no interest in television. I'm guessing some have no interest in what's on the radio. Maybe he listens to music on his laptop and doesn't need a CD.

Although there's no reason to think that my guess would be anywhere near accurate, your boyfriend strikes me as a young person who has interests in things other than televison (which is a good thing), and I'm guessing he's a young guy.

If his apartment is otherwise kind of regular (and it isn't one of these places with one chair, a box and sleeping bag) I wouldn't think there's a problem (although the no-books thing could be an issue for some girlfriends).

He HAS fish tanks and a laptop, several cameras and a pool table. In other words, he HAS a lot of things, and money. Yet he HAS what he wants to have. So what? Not everybody likes television or radio. I don't. And there is nothing beyond that fact. Why should he comply to the majority of people? He still HAS freedom to own what he wants!

Well you may find that he has no need for those things if he has a laptop linked to the net, he can find out what's happening in the world and be entertained.
Quite refreashing actually knowing that some people choose to live without the tv nowadays. (I mean he's not actually missing out on anything other than who won Survivor or Dancing with Celebrities, anything important like world news etc....can be read online.)
Fish tanks are great, not only are they a great hobby but are pretty relaxing and yet entertaining.
Having many books means that he reads, which is also rare in this day and age. Look through his collection and find out his interests, and question him on them than why he doesn't have a radio/tv etc....I'm sure the answer will be a lot more fulfilling than "Well, i don't like it".

The gut definitely sounds like he is a nature lover, and enjoys his surroundings just the way he has them.
He seems to be significant enough, why have all the noise of a television and radio, he has the fish tanks to look at, and playing Pool is all about calculating, and reading books is informative, taking pictures, and having the Laptop....sounds like a well rounded person to me.

I think he just doesn't want the noise and the blur of watching the "idiot box" to disrupt his life. He is probably a person who lives modestly and knows what is important to him. Apparently, tv isn't, and he'll be just fine without it.

I lived without watching tv several years ago by my own choice. I thought it was a waste of time. I did miss periods of tv shows and music that people asked me about. For example, did I know a certain group, or know of a certain tv star, and I didn't.
But I feel I was better because of it.

He doesn't want a tv - wow! someone who doesn't want the "idiot box" to control their lives! Keep him! He has what he wants. So what if he has the money for it? He'll buy it if he wants it. He reads, this is good. He has a laptop, that's all he needs. And, he has a pool table, good guy! Love playing pool! He likes photography too! Me too! Are you reading too much into your guy here? Why do YOU have to keep up with the Jones's?

He might just be happy with what he has. If he doesn't want one why would he spend money on it to set and collect dust. Just take his word for it. Maybe he just really don't like it.
