Leading is learned from many sources, books included, but I would say leaders must learn from more than just books. Leadership takes many qualities that can be read about and understood, but not experienced from a book. Being a leader comes from knowing what leaders know and doing what leaders do.

You can learn from other leaders, even if you are not an apprentice to lead. Being a follower of good and bad leaders, you can disect what the good ones do and what the bad ones do and avoid the bad behaviors and try to do more of the good leader's behaviors.

Initially, I would say yes, but the question is very broad. And I am not sure if you are asking if you can learn to lead, or if you are asking if a particular book can be used to lead others to a better life. I guess the answer, either way is, yes. You can learn to lead, and you can use certain books to lead people to a better life.
