I live in Nashville, and I usually don't hold people down and force them to listen to Toby Keith, but in your case...
... I'm waiting for you!!! lol
Just kidding. Nashville is a pretty good place to live. A good diversity of music can be found here. Everything from classical, to punk rock, to rap, can be found here. Not just country music. (but country music is the dominant theme here, obviously.)
The shopping here is plentiful. Many malls and such. The biggest of the malls here would be the Opry Mills mall:

And when you get the chance go next door to the Opryland Hotel and Resort:

Bring your walking shoes, both are huge. Plenty to see and do at both places.
Most of the country bars are located downtown in the Broadway and 2nd street area. (Hooters restaurant is on Church [chuckle] and 2nd. Yeah, the irony of that. lol)
One other important tip. The drivers here in Nashville are insane. You had better either brush up and practice defensive driving skills, or buy a freakin' tank. You've been warned. lol

Yeah......but when the locals are Nicole Kidman or Sheryl Crow, you don't fight it much. Enjoy yourself.
