There are a lot of rappers who make ignorant references to gay men, and use the word f*ggot , yet they are still glorified. I read how 50 cent said in Playboy mag that he couldn't stand to be around gay men becasue "he has nothing in common with them". How would he know what he has in common with them? They could both like chicken or the color red, but how would he know if he's so homophobic? I also read that Pharrell (of the Neptunes), disinvited two gay men, one of them Elton's husband, because he said too much 'sausage' would be in the room. A lot of other rappers have this homphobic mentality and rap about it, yet still make a lot of record sales. Yet these are the same men who think that two women together is hot. How dumb and ignorant can they be?

The reason I said homophobic rappers is because not all rappers are ignorant. There are a few decent rappers out there like LL Cool J and Will Smith, and that's just the male rappers. Also, I plan on going into rapping one day, but just because I'm gay you won't see me making heterophobic slurs.

They're "men". Typical macho, virile, stupid, ignorant men. The kind that think money equals women and sex, just because they can flash "bling" around, and think of other men as always wanting to compete with them for they're "b*tches". I loathe them, and refuse to let my brother listen to them, although I am forcefully subjected to that crap on the bus everyday, since that's what the wonderful teenage generation wants to listen to.

What I think is kind of hypocritical of this is that Eminem was severely criticized for using the word f*g and f*ggott because he was so popular among the majority of teens (meaning white teens), but slightly less popular rappers (but still as influential in my opinion) slip through the cracks. But I totally agree with your point. I think if the LGBT community focused half as much time and energy on the entire rap community as they did on Eminem, maybe something would be done about this problem.
P.S. I'm not trying to make a racial issue out of this, I think it's a popularity issue, not a race issue. Eminem is more popular because the white kids relate to him. Race is involved, but I don't think that Eminem has been targeted because he's white, I think he's been targeted because he's popular.

Because unfortunatley gays have always been a favorite target of guys trying to be macho.
You've got to look at who is buying rap music (Generally speaking) young people who just go with the rappin flow, and dont question things, and other wanna be macho guys, and girls who like these so called manly men. Then you've got a ton of people who listen, cause they like the beat and really can't understand what they're saying or what they mean (like myself who just recently found out what the Ying Yang twins mean when they say Ahhh skeet skeet skeet.)
thanks to my teenage daughter. But in answer to your question of how dumb and ignorant can they be... I don't mean to be rude or condescending but have you ever known the Rap genre to be smart or intelligent? Isnt it just pretty much "spit whatever you got, dont matter how foul, degrading, over the top, insulting, just say it" like I said it's for a certain audience. I have a lot of gay and Lesbian friends and most of them listen to a much higher class of music anyways. I feel your frustration though girl.

Rappers do a lot of wrong stuff, and they're still put on pedestals. I agree that the homophobia is wrong, but let's not forget the violence, drug activity, image of women as sexual objects . . .the whole culture needs an overhaul.

The media is scared to death to criticize black men. If it's a white, male homophobe, they'll feel free.
