It's time to call a domestic violence hotline. There are 800 numbers that you can call around the clock on the internet. Next, you should make a report to the police. Ask them if there is a victim's group that you can visit. You are being victimized because you've learned to accept violence due to something else that happened to you. The violence can be verbal or physical but neither is acceptable. Learn what you can do to establish better boundaries against people like that. Boundaries are important! Get some!

Yes there are laws against what he is doing. And what he is doing is called "Domestic Abuse or Domestic Violence." Call the police. They will arrest him. You can also get a restraining order against him. That will make it illegal for him to close to you. If he comes close to you after the order has been issued, you can have him arrested, and he will be put in jail. The police can explain everything to you.
You can still call the police (even if it happened two months ago). I'm not sure how well you'll fare if the bruises are not evident (you know, because they have healed over time) because it might just be your word against his, but if you are still sore, or if you have witnesses to the beating, you might want to call the police, and it might be enough to get a restraining order against him (so that he won't be allowed to come close to you).

Why the hell are you still with the !@^!#% ? If you are stupid enough to stay then hello! Why do you think he does it. Cause U let him. Get away take what you can and get a restraining order. Everytime he hits you it is considered domestic violence whether or not you are married or not. Restraining order and get his but behind bars. You need a paper trail. If anything ever happens to you , you need something to back up his history of violence. ANd you should be telling family friends whats up. They can help. Who wouldnt unless they have already told you to leave and you are dumb enough to stay. Insecurity and lack of self confidence are some of the main reasons why women stay. Dont be a statistic

You can file charges against him at the police station but if you are still with him then it may not go well for you. Assault and violence are civil crimes in the US and yes you can file charges. You always have the option of renting the movie "enough" and getting a trainer on the side so that you can kick his *** back the next time he tries it

Assault is a crime. Go to the police station to file assault charges then go to the City Attorney to file a restraining order against him. They can't help you if you don't tell them what is happening. You can walk into a police station at any time to file assault charges. Do it. He has a problem that has nothing to do with you. Nothing that you are doing is at fault. You need to stay away from him and keep him away from you.

You need to get away from him. He's unlikely to change his behavior.
Seek professional help with you questions.
Here is a good place to start:
The National Domestic Violence hotline:
1-800-799-SAFE (7233)
http://www.ndvh.org
They can point you in the right direction for legal assistance.
Sorry to hear your having that much trouble in your life right now..
God bless, and best of luck to you.

There are plenty of laws you need to call the cops and take out a restraining order and stay away from him for ever.
You know he is abusive and you stay, get out. I have to say I really don't have much pity for abused people who stay and continue getting abused.
