My son has a diaper rash that has been coming and going for the last couple weeks...I think it's from teething, I'ver heard that it can be a side effect...anyway...I have tried 3 different creams and it keeps coming back. This time it looks pretty bad. What have you tried that will clear it up and keep it from coming back? Any helpful information is greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

Desitan and change him frequently because the ammonia in his urine will worsen the problem

I would call his Dr. If the diaper rash is not going away, he could have a yeast infection. If that is the case, over the counter daiper rash creams wont work.
Yeast infections are not uncommen in babies, and they are not exclusive to woman or their partners. Often a prescription can be called in or an over the counter med can be suggested.
Depending on the situation, you can leave his diaper off, and let his tush air out. Keeping him REALLY dry is key to any rash. If you are concerned with him having a accident, talk to your Dr. to see if he/she has a bag that goes over the penis, and is held on by a mild adhesive. They are a comman item used in ER when a infact comes in and urine has to be collected.
Have you changed brands of diapers prior to the onset of the rash? Perhaps he is having an allergic reaction. Have you been giving him any new juices or anything that could be causing the urine to be stronger, possibly causing irritation?
But the best thing to do is contacting the Dr. or an advice nurse. And in the mean time Google it, so that you can get him some relief until you find out what it is.

Three different creams is to many. i have a two year old and for the first diaper rash she had i used balmex. And believe it or not her rash cleared up in two days or less. I am pregnant now and i wouldn't trade balmex for the world when it comes to a diaper rash. And also not so much soap on the infected area cause it irritates it worse. So a warm rag and some balmex should clear baby jacob right up.

this may sound odd,but if you try it you will be a beleaver.o.k. mom are you ready?CORN STARCH,never fails, on perfumes,or fancy this or that just plain corn starch. have raised two of my own as well as fostered many others. and don't let all of those other answers about keeping your baby die and clean bother you. i am sure that you are, some baby's are just really sanitize, to all sorts of things other then mess, such as the diaper it self ,heat and sweat from the diaper, maybe even some of the creams you are tiring may be irradiate your baby.so when ever possible let your baby stay diaper-less,they like it.dint worry,be confident and enjoy your baby,I'm sure your doing a great job for the teething i always kept melon balls in freezer,it helped with feeding and discomforted

Sudacream is the absolute best nappy rash ointment. My boys also had nappy rash real bad when teething and this is the only cream that worked. Wash his bum with lukewarm water after every nappy change and let his bum air out for a while. Sudacream will get rid of it in 24 hrs believe me. In Australia you can get it at the supermarket.

Has something changed in his diet the last few weeks since you've noticed the rash? Food allergies can cause bright red, itchy bumps around the anus, and if left untreated, can spread farther. I would try eliminating any new foods introduced and see if it goes away. Use desitin and change diapers often in the mean time.

Whatevee rash medication you are using needs to be re-applied every time you change the diaper. Also make sure you are wiping the baby well during each diaper change. If that doesnt work go to your doctor with the issue.

I have 2 lil babies, and with both I always use any cream with zinc oxide, thanks good they have never had a bad rash but what i usually do is to wash them with water and soft soap before putting the cream on, and as soon as they have a BM I change the diaper, it helps to prevent the rash.

Pure Zinc Oxide. My youngest son had a bad diaper rash and I tried everything. This was the only thing that worked. I took him to the doctor and he told me to let him go diaper-less...easy for him to say. I went with the Zinc Oxide that another mother had told me about.

The best types of diaper rash cream is Balmex, because is a creamy white cream, that doesnt burn the skin in contact, it relaxes. Every time you change him put it on him, and try different baby wipes, that's why they made different types because babies at times vary in skin sensitivity.

Any type of baby wipe that says XTRA SENSITIVE, like by brands such as Pampers or Huggies

you may have to take Lil Jacob to the doctor. From what I'm reading the over the counter stuff isn't strong enough and yes it can be because he is teething. If going to the doctor doesnt work,I just hope the both of you can get through this....i know how tough it can be
