Why would you want to keep your address from them???????
You really do need to give them your correct address and other contact information. Simply in case there is something wrong and they need to contact you. Hopefully you are not trying to hide your pregnancy and plan to do something stupid with the baby after delivering it.
There is not really any reason not to give the hospital your real address. Plus when you have to fill out forms for insurances and such the hospital needs your correct information. Your correct information will not be hard to find if they have your real name. They can quickly do a search for you on the internet and have your contact information in less then a few minutes. So it's best to just tell them the correct information.
No they will not make you pay before you leave and they wont keep your baby just cause you cant afford to pay them at the moment. They will send you a bill, they will work with you on a payment plan if you ask . Or do like the lady below me suggested. You don't have nothing to worry about. Just to let you know you most likely can get the medical card and wick right now. All you need to do is go up and sign up for them both. If you are not working they will give it to you cause you are pregnant.

I wonder if that could be fraud...like if you give them the wrong address on purpose so that they cannot bill you???? I wouldn't try it. I read your other question about not having Medicaid and asking if they make you pay before you leave. They're not going to send you to a manger to have your baby. Some hospitals have what's called charity where if you can prove your financial situation, they forgive you of the debt. It's like a bankruptcy for only that bill. A hospital I used to work for had that. If you are responsible for the bill, you can pay what you can each month even if it's $5. They can't make you pay any more than you can. Even if you don't pay it at all, there's not that much they can do. Hospitals aren't like credit cards....they cannot refuse you service and so if you can't pay, they'll just write off that debt. I wouldn't do something like giving them false info that might come back to haunt you.

Yes, it could hurt you and your child to falsify information. What if after you leave the hospital, they discover some type of problem, discrepancy, etc, and need to get in touch with you? Perhaps there is a medical problem with you or the baby that they can solve easily, but not if you are not locatable.
Be safe, not sorry. This is your chance to do something right. If you are simply worried about the hospital bills, there are ways to work with you on that. There are social workers that can help you with every aspect of new parenthood. They are also going to send you immunization reminders, coupons, and such. Also, if you do qualify for some social services, they have to verify your address, which won't match if you have falsified it.

I just answered your other question. Don't start running from responsibility. You are about to be a mom and need to really think through things. It will affect you and your child if you don't take care of your own problems. The indigent care program will help you and you will not have to pay it back. Please set your mind to do the best you can for your child and yourself. I am here if you want to contact me for any help that I can give you.

That's wrong. People that do that are the reason medical bills cost so much. Whose pockets do you think that money comes out of?
